2018 Pit Stop USA Shootout Races & Schedule Updates

For immediate release

Feb 1, 2018, Petaluma, CA. – Pit Stop USA and Petaluma Speedway are pleased to announce the 2018 Pit Stop USA Shootout dates for the Winged 360 Sprint Car Class.

Two Pit Stop USA Shootout dates will be run on May 19th and July 28th with the winner of each main event taking home $3,000, with second paying, $1,000, and third place $750.

The Shootout races coupled with two Sprint Car Challenge Tour events, the pair of KWS-NARC scheduled events, and the $5,000 to win Adobe Cup, brings a total of 7 winged races that will pay at least $3,000 to win in 2018 at the west’s fastest 3/8th mile oval.

Petaluma Speedway is also adopting an ASCS-style format for the 7th Annual Adobe Cup on Oct 6th.  Unlike in previous years there will no longer be drivers locked in.  Additionally, with the Johnny Key Classic moving to Aug 25th Petaluma Speedway will move the Pit Stop USA Winged 360 race originally scheduled for that night back a week to Aug 18th.  The 7th Annual Soares Classic 50-lap C&H Veteran Ent. Hunt Magneto Sprint Car Series has been moved from Aug 18th to the 25th.

Petaluma Speedway Promoter Rick Faeth stated, “With a healthy abundance of winged 360 tour races and special events in 2018 we felt it incumbent to work with the travelling tours, and neighboring tracks to try and find the best fit for the competitors in order to sustain the best field of cars for a pair of Pit Stop USA Shootout events that have the highest purse ever.”

Long-time track & series sponsor, President/CEO of Pit Stop USA Ed Coughenour commented, “We are very excited about the changes to the Pit Stop USA Shootout Series and the season finale Adobe Cup for Winged 360 Sprint Cars. Sprint Car racing is thriving in Northern California and we are proud to part of the excitement and our continued association with Petaluma Speedway and promoter Rick Faeth. Together we are looking forward to a fantastic 2018 racing season!”
