Unfortunately we were not able to garner the permission of the Sonoma County Public Health Department in time for this Saturday’s June 6th race at Petaluma Speedway. We are now focusing all efforts on next weekends two-day Western States Dwarf Car Association National, hosted by the Redwood Dwarf Car Association and the Pit Stop USA Wingless Sprints. As of today Monday, June 1st, Petaluma Speedway is still waiting to hear from the Sonoma County Public Health Department Officials on our request to re-open for this Saturday’s June 6th event. Planned divisions would be the Pit Stop USA Wingless Sprints, BCRA/USAC Midgets, Super Stocks, and Mini Stocks. Due to Sonoma County being designated as a “shelter in place” county Petaluma Speedway and the governor directing all fairgrounds to close we are forced to cancel tomorrow’s March 28 race night. We will cancel scheduled events on a week by week basis. I have had discussions with the fairgrounds about extending our season into late October and possibly November. When I know more, you will to. The 2019 Petaluma Speedway Awards Banquet will be Saturday Night, January 4th at Legends at Bennett Valley. The cost is $45 per person. RSVP as well as payment must be received no later then Thursday, January 2nd. Banquet flyers were mailed to award recipients the second week of November. Saturday, October 5th will be the 3rd Annual Bob McCoy Memorial Super Stock Open at Petaluma Speedway. Honoring the longtime contributor and head of the push truck fleet. This years purse will be a record $5,580. The full payout will be: $1,500 to win $750 for 2nd $425 for 3rd $300 for 4th $250 for 5th $200 for 6th $175 for 7th $150 for 8th to 22nd We greatly look forward to hosting this event.
The second of two Pit Stop USA Winged 360 Shootout Races is this Saturday Night, Sept 7th. The winner of this 30-lap event will win $3,000. Second will earn $1,000, and third, $750. Petaluma Speedway will be running a test & tune day on Saturday, July 6th from noon to 6 pm. Open to all classes. Pit passes $30. Pit concession will be open. The main grandstand will not be open.
