Gene Romero Flat Track Series Returns to Petaluma Speedway

Gene Romero’s West Coast Flat Track Series returns with its rolling thunder show to Petaluma Speedway on Saturday, June 16, for round three of the West Coast Flat Track Series. Spectator gates open at 4:0pm with racing starting at 6:30pm.

Last year the flattrack motorcycles took on the clay 3/8-mile Petaluma Speedway to a packed grandstand of race fans showcasing the traditional and uniquely American style of motorcycle racing that combines speed and agility as racers battle handlebar to handlebar, inches apart, while controlling their sliding motorcycles at high speeds.  This combined with the track prep expertise of Jim Soares promoter of Petaluma Speedway, the event will be assured of a perfect racing surface that will produce the best show on dirt”.

The West Coast Flat Track Series encompasses the entire West Coast, sanctioning from California to Washington. Series founder Romero is a former AMA Grand National dirt track and road race champion. “Our series has sprouted wings as we are completing our fifteenth season,” Romero said. “The West Coast Flat Track Series of today is everything that we dreamed we could accomplish when we first began in 1998, and our racing action is second to none. We have constantly worked on ways to shape the series to create exciting, action- packed and prompt shows that are an entertainment value to all motor sports fans”.

The Series was derived from the “World Of Outlaws” sprint cars racing format with adjustments to fit professional motorcycle racing. This version of flat track racing has been a success with rolling re-starts, time trials and such that a fan can follow and understand the nights racing. The end result is an exciting action packed fast paced program that starts on time and ends on time that the racers and fans alike come to enjoy and expect.  This is a family oriented event that translates into a fun night out for all.

Saturday night will feature the West Coast Flat Track Series’ signature classes, including the run-what-ya-brung K&N Filters Open Class, the Saddlemen Vintage Class, the Top Gun 450 Class and the ever-popular Classic Open Class.  Also Included in the program will be the 250 Sportsmen Class showcasing the future stars of Flat Track (12–15 years of age).

The pits will be open to all after the races so come down and meet the riders and view the Flat Track Racing Motorcycles.
