Petaluma Speedway, Sonoma Counties oldest professional sporting venue releases its 2021 schedule today. Full slate of 26 events are planned. The season will kick off with a pair of test & tune days March 13th & 20th. The first race will be on March 27th featuring the first of a pair of Joe Hunt Magneto/C&H Veterans Wingless Sprint Series events. Petaluma Speedway is proud to announce that the C&H Veteran’s Hunt Magneto Wingless Sprint Car Series has been added to next Saturday Nights lineup along with the return of BCRA & USAC Midgets, Western Midgets, and the Santa Rosa Auto Body 600’s. Pit gate will open at noon. Fans can enjoy all the action by tuning into www.FloRacing.com.
This Saturday Night is Adobe Cup II featuring the Pit Stop USA Wingless Sprints competing in the modified ASCS format. The McLea’s Tire & Automotive IMCA Modifieds, and the Redwood Dwarf Cars and their annual Twin-20 features. Pit gate opens at noon. Pit Passes are $45. Masks and social distancing are mandatory. Due to the ongoing wildfires in our region and extremely unhealthy air quality index numbers Petaluma Speedway is cancelling tomorrow nights scheduled race. Foremost in our decision is the health and safety of our competitors, race teams, and staff members. I will work with the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds and officials of the United States Auto Club to find a potential date to reschedule. Rick Faeth Petaluma Speedway
Petaluma Speedway regrettably announces that tomorrow nights scheduled races are being postponed due to a predicted AQI (Air Quality Index) in excess of 350 reaching a classification level of “Hazardous.” Foremost in this decision is the health, safety, and well-being of the competitors, sponsors, broadcast crew, staff, and the neighborhood as a whole. Petaluma Speedway will continue to operate as a good community partner and we will work with the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds Staff to find a potential makeup date [...]
After consultation with the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds board and management and due to the combination of Spare the Air alerts, heat warnings, and potential fire watch warnings for this weekend all combine into conditions where we feel it is necessary to cancel this Sunday’s event. As always, Petaluma Speedway will continue to do it’s part in support of being a good neighbor and community partner. We will soon announce a make-up date for Sunday’s cancellation. Attention competitors for tomorrow nights July 26th event. Social distancing will be enforced by utilizing the pit area and the dirt parking lot. Trailers may not park next to each other. Mask wearing will be strictly enforced. Teams are allowed 1 driver and 5 crew members. Teams need to arrive together. The event will be live streamed on www.floracing.com.
